How To Solve Any Problem

Debra Redalia

problem: a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome

I have observed that there are many problems in life. There are problems in our own lives, in the lives of people around us, in businesses we deal with, in our communities, and in the world.

And I have also observed that many problems are tolerated and allowed to continue simply because we don’t know what a problem is or what we can do to solve them.

Recently I came across a realization I had about problems, back is 2019:

problems exist as an opportunities to set right things that are set wrong

If we think of problems as being confusing and unsolvable, they will just continue to be confusing and unsolvable.

What led me to this on that day in 2019 was trying to get a password for my tech woman. I didn’t understand the structure of passwords for my host and I didn’t have the data organized properly. So there was a confusion and a problem.

The solution was to understand and organize the data.

But it opened the door for me to see:

  • if there is a problem, there is something I don’t understand, and
  • by understanding it and taking action to set it right, the problem goes away.

There is a correct way to do everything in life. And that correct way produces a result that sustains life, continues life and results in happiness and satisfaction. When we know those ways and can do them at will, there are no problems. Life flows smoothly.

Here's an example. There are traffic laws. When those of us who drive vehicles learn those laws and follow them, traffic flows smoothly. Everybody gets to arrive where they are going because everyone is following the same laws. But if a driver doesn't learn the laws or chooses not to follow them, then we have accidents, people are killed, and we have a problem. The solution is to learn the traffic laws and follow them. End of problem. Now there may be other problems that need to be solved like drunk driving, but the basic solution is for everyone who drives to know and follow the laws.

I was prompted to write this post this week because I was having problems pile up. By identifying the what was wrong in each situation, I was able to solve each problem, one by one, and create circumstances where the problem would not recur.

The steps are:

  • become aware there is a problem
  • decide to solve it
  • OBSERVE the problem to see what is going on
  • identify what is going wrong
  • set things right so there is a good result

Try this. It works. One by one we can solve problems and set things right in our lives and in the world.

lifepartners + soulmates

For more than 30 years we have been delving into the nature and activities of life together. Indeed, this has been and continues to be the very reason we are together. With delight, we research, explore, observe, and even wake each other up in the middle of the night to discuss how life functions and how we can function as life—even while living in the modern world. We each are different from the norm, but we are different in the same way, so we have been able to think outside of the ordinary together and find the extraordinary workings of life.
